If you haven’t been to Atlanta, GA. you are missing out. From unique dinning experience, historic culture and great shopping the good ole ATL has something for everyone. And as an avid visitor of the peachy city, I have come across a TON of places to eat, drink and be marry. Yet I was looking for a fresh take on the community this time.
Living in Tennessee I’m a hop, skip and jump away from Atlanta and I always opt for the 4 hour commute. One of the best parts of the drive is actually arriving into Atlanta. The highway is always a heart pumping moment. Jumping from two to 6 lanes, luxury vehicle swerving past at high speeds (obviously I’m never equip to keep up with the locals). Putting you right into the metropolitan vibe the city is known for.
An advocate for staying in the Buckhead area, I usually choose a vibrant and youthful hotel. However, I traded in my trendy hotel for an elegant and timeless experience.
I’m sure most of you are aware of the St. Regis hotel chain. I don’t even like to use the word “chain”, because it is so much more than that awful adjective. The St. Regis is the definition of class. From the moment you walk into the lobby, you are embraced with the elegance of the oversize double staircase and neutral color pallet. You are truly introduced into a world of its own. The world of St. Regis…
Prepared for a splurge, I reserved one of the “smaller” suites in the establishment and could not wait to get into my room for a quick look! While checking in my personal butler greeted me with my bags in tow to escort me to my room. Arriving to my suite, I could only imagine what awaited…because the photos never do the room any justice. As soon as I walked in the Juliet balcony grabbed my attention. Slightly opened, fresh air filled the room while the chiffon drapery floated in the air. Walking through the entry hall, my bags were placed out of sight and I threw myself on the chic velvet couch adorned perfectly with blue feather pillows. A fresh white orchid sitting on the table put an instant smile on my face. This was everything I hoped for and then some.
My butler alerted me he was assigned to my suite specifically and if I should need him he was a buzz away. Completely flattered, I grinned and thought to myself this must be what it is like to be a celebrity ;). Excited to rummage through the room, I pulled open double doors from the living area that creating an open floor concept from the living room to the bedroom. A king sized bed adorned in all white linens and rich mahogany furniture perfectly compliment the soft tones of the majority of the suite. As I swiftly walked into sleeping quarters another set of double doors awaited….then it happened. A glimpse of heaven, maybe? No. But one bathroom that met my every childhood (and current) dream! An all mirrored makeup table, double white marble sinks (with a TV inside the mirror) over-sized tub and stand up steam shower….no those were not the best parts of this exquisite bathroom. It was the closest. The two custom wood shelving walk in closets. I immediately placed my brand new red bottoms on the shoe shelf and just looked at them. By no means bragging, but this was a Carrie Bradshaw moment for me and I was going to soak it up.
From then on, I was treated to a one hour total body massage at the hotels spa. I’m literally still drooling over it. I’m not sure if it was the hot wax detail on the feet or the infused water and finger foods served to me prior. Either way that was the best spa experience of my life. No lie.
Hopping from one luxury amenity to another, the pool was next on my list. Feeling a little Elizabeth Taylor, I moseyed into the pool area with my white spa robe still on. Thankfully, the pool entry was only one door down from the spa. Snagging a red and white striped lounge chair the concierge came running. I quickly placed my order from their full menu and what seemed as seconds, it had already arrived. One cheeseburger and margarita latter, I was officially fat and happy and ready to scope out the guests. To my surprise there was a nice mix of families, modern day fashionistas and attractive singles. Ultimately creating the perfect vibe. Feeling completely at home, I opted for some shut eye in the quaint setting.
Relaxed and happy, the rest of my trip was filled with roaming around large hotel and indulging in the two fabulous eatery’s on site. My three day stay was the perfect slow down the busy life I usually live. With my 5 star stamp of approval, the St. Regis is simply imponderable. A special thank you to the wonderful staff who continue to create this environment for all of their guests.
